Kismat Community Guidelines
Effective: 28 June 2026 (version 3)
Kismat is for adults looking for genuine connections - dating, friendship, conversation, networking, every relationship intent welcomed. These guidelines describe what we expect from everyone on the platform. They form part of our Terms of Service; breaking them can lead to warnings, restrictions, suspension, or permanent removal.
1. Be yourself
- Use a clear, recent photo of you with your face visible on at least one profile slot.
- State your real age. Lying about your age - especially being under 18 - is grounds for permanent removal and, where applicable, referral to child-safety authorities.
- Don't impersonate others, public figures, or fictional characters.
- No deepfakes or AI-generated images of yourself or others. Stylised filters that don't substantially alter your face (e.g. light beautification) are fine; AI-generated faces, faceswaps, or composites passed off as a real photo of you are not. Deepfakes of other people are forbidden in all forms.
2. Respect other people
- If someone unmatches or doesn't reply, move on. Persistent contact attempts are harassment.
- No insults, slurs, threats, or content targeting people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, age, or appearance.
- No sexual extortion ("sextortion"). Threatening to share intimate images, or pressuring someone into sending them, is a serious violation and a crime in most jurisdictions including Austria. We immediately ban accounts that engage in it and preserve evidence for law enforcement.
- No doxxing. Don't share or threaten to share another person's home address, workplace, family details, or other private information.
- No non-consensual intimate imagery. Sharing or threatening to share sexual images of another person without their consent (including images of an ex-partner) is grounds for permanent removal and, where applicable, criminal referral.
- Sexual content involving anyone under 18, real or fictional, is illegal and is reported to authorities (Austrian StGB §§ 207, 207a, 208a; in the US, NCMEC). This is a zero-tolerance line. Read that line again.
3. Stay safe
- Don't share contact information (phone numbers, social handles, email, URLs) inside your bio or in early messages. We auto-detect this and either scrub it or block the message - it's a scam-disruption measure, not a privacy attack on you. Once you trust someone, exchange details outside the app.
- Don't solicit or send money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency. Real partners don't need your money. Romance scammers operate on every dating platform; common scripts include "I'm overseas military / oil rig / doctor and need help with a fee", "this stock is going to the moon, here's my crypto trader", "send a small gift card so I know you trust me". Block, then report.
- Pay attention to love-bombing: declarations of love, future-faking, "you're my soulmate" within the first week. It's a tactic, not romance.
- If a chat feels off, screenshot it for your own records and use the report menu in the conversation. We review every report.
4. Keep it legal
- No prostitution, escort services, sugar relationships, or trafficking-adjacent activity. Kismat is not a platform for sex work.
- No drugs or illegal goods, including the offer / promotion / sale of any controlled substance.
- No weapons or solicitation of violence.
- No spam, MLM, network marketing, recruiting for other services, or commercial advertising. Promotional profiles get removed without warning.
- No fraud, identity theft, or activity targeting financial accounts.
5. Photos and bios - what flies and what doesn't
- Yes: clear face photos, hobby shots, group photos (provided at least one of your photos is a clear solo shot of you), pets, scenery shots that show you, well-lit, recent.
- No: nudity, sexually explicit poses, swimwear that focuses on private areas, weapons, drugs, alcohol-as-the-subject, photos of children (yours or anyone else's), photos of someone else as your primary, blurry "vibe-only" primary photos, screenshots of someone else's social media, AI-generated faces.
- Bios may not contain external links, contact info, sex-work advertising, hate speech, or violations of any rule above.
- We use automated moderation backed by human review. If you think a photo or bio was wrongly rejected, contact support@kismat.at and we'll review per our Notice and Action Policy.
6. On video (Video mode)
Everything above applies on live video, and some lines matter even more when a camera is on:
- Stay dressed and keep it non-sexual. Nudity, sexual acts, or sexual exposure on camera are not allowed and end the call immediately.
- No minors on camera, ever. Anyone who appears under 18 in frame is a zero-tolerance violation and is reported to authorities.
- No weapons, drugs, or violence on screen.
- No harassment. Slurs, threats, sexual pressure, or abusive behaviour on a call are grounds for removal.
- Only show yourself. Don't put other people on camera without their consent, and don't broadcast private spaces or anyone who hasn't agreed to be there.
- Don't record or capture the other person's video or image, and don't share it anywhere.
- Video is automatically monitored for the most serious violations, and you can leave or report any call in one tap. Because every account is a real, verified person, a ban means losing that identity - so treat people the way you would want to be treated face to face.
7. Reporting and enforcement
Tap the menu on any profile or conversation to report. Reports are reviewed by humans (sometimes assisted by automated triage). For each meaningful action we take, you receive a Statement of Reasons (DSA Art. 14) and a clear path to appeal (DSA Art. 20). Severe violations - CSAM, sextortion, threats of violence, large-scale fraud - are permanent on first incident and reported to law enforcement where appropriate.
We track patterns across reports - a single user reported by many independent counterparties for the same behaviour is treated more seriously than a one-off complaint.
8. Appeals
If you think a moderation decision was wrong, email support@kismat.at within 6 months. Include your account email, a brief explanation of why you believe the decision was wrong, and any evidence (screenshots, message context). We aim to reply within 5 business days. Independent dispute resolution is also available - see our Notice and Action Policy.
9. Got it wrong? Tell us.
Moderation isn't perfect. If you spot a pattern of unfair decisions, mass false positives, or content that should obviously be removed but isn't, email support@kismat.at. We publish a brief annual transparency note summarising moderation volumes and appeal outcomes.
