Frequently asked
- Is Kismat free to use?
- Yes. Creating a profile, browsing, matching, messaging, live selfie verification, Private Mode and hidden names are all free. The one optional paid tier, Kismat Plus (EUR 4.99 per week or EUR 14.99 per month), adds unlimited likes, see who liked you with instant match, 10 Super Likes a week, unlimited undo and multi-city Passport (up to three extra cities). The free tier is fully usable. No credits, no Premium tier. The free app shows a few ads; Kismat Plus is ad-free.
- How does Kismat verify profiles?
- Kismat uses a live selfie plus face-recognition match against your uploaded photos. The selfie is captured during a short anti-spoofing flow (turn your head, blink) and compared mathematically to your profile pictures. Verified profiles get a blue badge. The selfie is deleted right after the check and only the result is stored. If you ask for a manual review after a failed check, that one selfie is kept until a person decides, at most 14 days.
- Is Kismat safe? What about scammers and fake profiles?
- Kismat runs automated photo moderation, live selfie verification, and a 24/7 reporting workflow. Every uploaded photo is scanned for nudity, weapons, drugs, and AI-generated faces before it ever reaches another user. Reports are read by humans and most are actioned within 24 hours. Romance scams, advance-fee fraud, and impersonation are zero-tolerance offenses.
- Is Kismat for serious relationships, casual dating, or friendship?
- Kismat has three intents only: Something serious, Casual dating, and Friendship. You pick one in your profile and a hard same-intent filter applies: you only see people who picked the same.
- Is Kismat LGBTQ+ friendly?
- Yes - Kismat is open to everyone regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. You can specify your gender (including non-binary) and who you want to meet. Hate speech and harassment targeting LGBTQ+ users is a zero-tolerance offense and results in immediate, permanent account termination.
- Where is Kismat available?
- Kismat is available worldwide. The matching engine is global - you can match with verified users in any country. English and German interfaces ship today; more locales roll out as user demand grows.
- Where does my data go? Is Kismat GDPR-compliant?
- Kismat is operated by P&P Management GmbH under Austrian jurisdiction and is fully GDPR-compliant. Servers are physically located in the European Union. EU privacy law applies to every user worldwide, not just European ones. You can export, correct, or delete all of your personal data from inside the app at any time.
- How does Kismat Plus work?
- Kismat Plus is the one paid tier: EUR 4.99 per week or EUR 14.99 per month, billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play (or by card on the web). It auto-renews and you can cancel any time. Plus adds unlimited likes, see who liked you with instant match, 10 Super Likes a week, unlimited undo and multi-city Passport (up to three extra cities). The free tier is fully usable. There are no credits, no Premium tier and no ghost mode. The free app shows a few ads; Kismat Plus is ad-free.
- Can I delete my account?
- Yes. Settings, Account, Delete account. Your profile is hidden immediately; all data is permanently erased after a 7-day grace window so you can change your mind by signing back in. Backup snapshots roll off within 35 days.
- How is Kismat different from other dating apps?
- Kismat is verification-first: every profile can prove the photos belong to the person behind them. Built under EU privacy law by default. Three intents only (Something serious, Casual dating, Friendship) with a hard same-intent filter, so you only see people who picked the same. Private Mode is free for everyone, names can be hidden, and features like Date or done, photo freshness and Blind date are built in. The free tier is fully usable.
